It is always interesting to find plants known for their medicinal properties growing in the wild. With the help of a naturalist friend, we discovered this specimen of Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides).
Cohosh has long been recommended as a natural and hormone-free method for managing menopausal hot flashes. Studies of its efficacies are inconclusives but anecdotal evidence from thousands of women who have used black cohosh supplements suggest some symptom relief.

It’s an interesting looking plant.
Hi, Elaine
Yes, it is. There’s nothing about it at all that says “I will relieve hot flashes”
Black cohosh (Cimicifuga) is also a beautiful ornamental shade plant. It reaches 6 feet with beautiful long bottlebrush-like flowers that perfume the air in late summer. The bees love it too!
I agree black cohosh did help with hot flushes but do not take for too long as it can may one more prone to urinary tract infections
